Lightyear Coffee is an independent, small team of data visualizers, content creators, and researchers, led by Julian Felch.  

We are passionate about preserving the future of coffee, as the industry is increasingly threatened by climate change, deforestation, economic imbalances, and other challenges.  

We believe that coffee roasters play a critical role in influencing sustainable decisions throughout coffee’s journey from “crop to cup” – including how it’s cultivated and traded.     

Our mission:

• For coffee drinkers: highlight small roasters around the US who are leading the way in specialty coffee sustainability, innovation, and equity
• For coffee roasters: provide competitive analysis and operational recommendations to any small roaster looking to build their niche in the market and help shape what specialty coffee will look like in the future
